Jev best practices
“Best practices” on this site means defaults that survive contact with production, not a vibe review of Jev and not a clone of a “Jev review” blog. Date the methodology: 2026-09-21. Independent. docs.typesafe.ai. We do not issue keys.
Independent angle (cover, do not clone)
Win delta (review-hands-on): reproducible eval notes with dates; methodology > opinion blog. This URL is the constructive operate loop; evaluation and testing are the harness twins. We do not mirror a rival review slug or voice.
Question and context
Jev (TypeSafe System One) returns typed answers. Best practice is to treat every production call as a release: questions@sha + pinned model + door id + fail-closed default. TypeSafe’s how-to-build narrative remains official; this page is the unofficial checklist voice.
Core concepts
- One intent per workflow. SEO-GEO’s one-intent rule is also an engineering rule. Split packs (use cases) instead of a 30-question blob.
- Contracts before calls. Allow-list
statefields; bind instructions to backtick paths. - Pins before floors. Fit on
jev-1.13.0(versioned id). Aliases can move. See version pinning. - Policy actions, not argmax. Score auto / review / abstain on gold.
- Traces or it did not happen. Persist decision traces.
- Jaggedness in code. Arithmetic, dates, counts — official weakness list for
jev-1.13. - Label vendor claims. 40×–200× speed stories and $0.042 / M input stay attributed. Confirm models.
- Handoff is success. Abstention is not a model failure (glossary).
- Dual-stack when you ship both. Same JSON body in Python and JS SDKs.
- Never unofficial-as-official. Disclaimer + https://docs.typesafe.ai on every public URL we publish; do the same in your internal wiki.
Practical approach
Weekly operate loop (from the playbook): refresh the channel matrix; diff response.model; sample handoffs into gold; re-read jaggedness if criteria changed.
date: 2026-09-21
model: jev-1.13.0
door: first-party HTTP
question_sha: <git>
metrics: auto_precision, review_rate, 422_count
notes: fill from YOUR run
Do not paste invented numbers into that template.
Risks and trade-offs
Best-practice lists rot into cargo cult (copying 0.9 everywhere). The override is your harness. Over-gating hides calibration; under-gating ships irreversible mistakes. Fit per action.
What this page does not claim
- No hands-on jev.pro leaderboard or star rating.
- Not official TypeSafe “best practices” documentation.
- Schema-safe ≠ correct.
FAQ
Is this a Jev product review? No. We refuse review-blog voice. Methodology lives on the evaluation/testing siblings.
Should every team copy TypeSafe cookbook floors? No. Official numbers are illustrations. Fit on labeled traffic.
Where do anti-patterns live? Anti-patterns names the architectures these practices prevent.
